Spend the Weekend With You

It’s no secret that life can get pretty hectic. Juggling work, personal life, and relationships can be overwhelming. Sometimes you just need a weekend to yourself to recharge and recover from a long week of work and stress. But being alone isn’t all that bad. When you’re stressed out and just need time to yourself, solitude can be a great state. Luckily, North San Diego has plenty of things to do that will have you feeling refreshed and ready for the week to start come Monday morning.

Spending the weekend with yourself does not mean that you have to stay in and avoid human contact. One recharging excursion you can take yourself on is simply grabbing a bite to eat. In 2017 dining alone is no longer a social mishap, but a preferred experience by many people. In North San Diego there are plenty of establishments to choose from, whether you want to take yourself out on a fancy dinner date at a five star restaurant or just hit up a local burger joint in jeans and a t-shirt, dining alone is a fun, stress free activity that can help you unwind from a busy week. Vintana Wine + Dine in Escondido is a great place to try out if you want to dress up and treat yourself to some gourmet dining. If you want to stay more casual, head over to Grub Burger Bar or even just a regular fast food establishment if you don’t want to go out. As long as you can eat food you’ll enjoy on your own, it doesn’t really matter where you choose to dine.

Another cool thing about spending the weekend alone is that you don’t have to worry about what anyone else wants to do. Taking the time to do something you usually can’t do with other people like catching that movie that only you want to see or finally visiting that museum exhibit your friends weren’t interested in is just the sort of thing that makes recharging solo such a great idea.

If you consider yourself an artsy person, or just enjoy cultural things, then visiting an art gallery or a playhouse can be a great way to recharge over the weekend. In North San Diego there are many different cultural institutions that all offer refreshing experiences for anyone looking to wind down from the week. The La Jolla Playhouse and the California Center for the Arts Escondido are two great examples of the cultural experience offered in North San Diego. Taking your time strolling through an art exhibit or sitting back and catching an evening performance are perfect ways to recharge, and will give you something to reflect about over the upcoming week.

Sticking to the theme of recharging, it’s hard to hear the word without thinking about the spa and all the relaxing rejuvenation that comes with it. There are a number of spas all over North San Diego to choose from, like spa services from Bellus Academy, or the onsite spa located at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Sometimes a good massage or facial is all it takes to turn the week around and brighten up you day. Dropping by a spa or salon over the weekend is a perfect way to recharge, and you’ll start the week looking fresher than usual, an added plus.

At the end of your weekend alone, you should feel recharged and ready to tackle all the challenges the week has lined up for you. Spending some time alone might sound boring or lonely to some people, especially people who consider themselves social butterflies, but if you just give it a try you might find that you enjoy relaxing on your own every once in a while. In abundance, spending time with yourself can get a little tiring, but every once in a while when you need to really come down off of your week, a little solitude could be just what you need to get back on track with life.
